deathDarcy

A thrilling story of murder and betrayal filled with the scandal, wit and intrigue characteristic of Austen’s classic novels.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is devastated. The joy of his recent wedding has been cut short by the news of the sudden death of his father’s beloved cousin, Samuel Darcy. Elizabeth and Darcy travel to Dorset, a popular Regency resort area, to pay their respects to the well-traveled and eccentric Samuel. But this is no summer holiday. Danger bubbles beneath Dorset’s peaceful surface as strange and foreboding events begin to occur. Several of Samuel’s ancient treasures go missing, and then his body itself disappears. As Darcy and Elizabeth investigate this mystery and unravel its tangled ties to the haunting legends of Dark Dorset, the legendary couple’s love is put to the test when sinister forces strike close to home. Some secrets should remain secrets, but Darcy will do all he can to find answers—even if it means meeting his own end in the damp depths of a newly dug grave.

  3. Deborah says:

Congratulations to sell the authors nominated for this award, especially to Regina Jeffers. The Mysterious Death of Mr. Darcy is a wonderful mystery. As I already have the eBook, please do not enter me in the contest.

  4. Mari says:

The only thing I love more than Jane Austen is a good mystery ‘ so The Mysterious Death Of Mr. Darcy is right up my alley. I am so glad it was nominated, because I might not have heard about it otherwise. Good luck to all the nominees, but I hope Ms. Jeffers wins, because Darcy! Elizabeth! Murder! I’m there.

  5. Vesper Meikle says:

Two subjects that I love to read about – any Jane Austen character and a mystery.

    Good luck to Regina Jeffers

  6. Sheila L. M. says:

Congratulations! Thanks for letting us know. Will have to cross my fingers but reading the little intro above whets my appetite to read the book…so even if I don’t win, this one goes on my wish list. Previously when I read the title I thought of the only Mr. Darcy I have read about in books….so wrong, obviously. I have read several of her other P&P books.

  7. Heather M says:

Congrats on the nomination! I really liked The Phantom of Pemberley, but somehow this one escaped my notice. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  8. Tresha Boone says:

Congratulations on the nomination! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  9. Anji Dale says:

Congratulations to Regina for making it on to this very short list. I really hope she wins. A murder mystery with two of our favourite characters – what more can one want?

  10. Mary Beth says:

Congratulations on the nomination! This is on my must read list.

  11. Kari Singh says:

Congratulations on your nomination! I have 2 of your other E & D books, but haven’t gotten to this one yet!

    • I am so pleased for the nomination, but I would love to win to bring more attention to the Austenesque genre. As Austen readers, we understand the power of her characters, but there are many who do not know what we live each day.

  12. Lúthien84 says:

Go Regina! We support you to win.

I have all the other Austenesque titles from her except this one so I would like to win it. Thanks for the giveaway, Sally.

  13. Pam Hunter says:

Congratulations on your nomination, Regina! I’m rooting for you!

  14. Carole in Canada says:

Congratulations to Regina and to all the other authors! This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it. As I have the actual book, I don’t need to be put in the draw! Thank you!

  15. Gabriela VS says:

I love mystery stories involving Darcy and Elizabeth fighting unknown enemies. I just finished reading another of Jeffers’s stories and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good luck.

This sounds like a good read; I have read other “mystery” JAFF and I love Dorset–looking forward to reading it!

  17. V Ogura says:

Can’t wait to read it, I try to read at least a couple Austen-type books every month.

  18. junewilliams7 says:

I’m excited that you are nominated for a Yerby Award When will you find out?

I am very unwilling for Fitzwilliam Darcy to meet his own end in the damp depths of a newly dug grave, so it’s a good thing I have confidence that a very dear author will write a happy ending. Right , Regina? XD

    • The award will be announced on Friday evening. I am becoming more nervous each day.

As I am a member of the Romance Writers of America, a HEA (happily ever after) is essential, June. LOL!

  19. Wendy Roberts says:

Sounds very intriguing! I can’t wait to read it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  20. Amber says:

Sounds really interesting — but killing off Darcy???
